THE PROBLEM

Reinforced concrete is one of the most used construction materials on the planet. The CO2 emissions from concrete production account for 8% of global emissions. The production of steel rebar, used as reinforcement in concrete, accounts for 1,5% of global CO2 emissions.

  • The total production cycle from iron mine to steel rebar on site is extremely long and the environmental impact is high.

  • The processing temperatures of iron are very high and excessive amounts of energy are used.

  • This results in 1,84 ton CO2 per ton of produced steel rebar.

  • Steel rebar corrodes and shortens the durability of concrete.

The installation is faster and requires less man hours than traditional rebar.

Less Concrete

Using our product requires less concrete for the same application with traditional steel rebar.

The life expectancy of the concrete increases by 25 %.

Less Energy

Our goal is to produce our product locally in Europe.

This requires a fraction of the energy used in the mining, transportation and production of steel rebar.
